The second home of a family from Acre, the RJ Apartment, with a project signed by Rua 141 Arquitetura + Rafael Zalc, has as premise to welcome its residents when they are in the city. It created a bold atmosphere with sophisticated details. The room was integrated to the terrace to gaing reater amplitude of the social area and the Sam ecement floor was used to give this uniformity. The linear kitchen is open to the living room where a specific language was created to suit the requirement space and comunicate with the furniture. At the entrance of the apartment were allocated the laundry and service area, which are hidden by the large wood panels. In this way, it was possible to optimize the uses and maintain the same language created for the social area. On the opposite wall of the laundry room was created a puzzle of pieces in the panel covered with fabric, that has its continuation in the wall of the TV. In this way, a cozy space has been developed which contrasts with the cold cement floor.

Having the kitchen as a social area, open to the living, was a daring proposal that became a starting point of the project. The architects also took advantage of the lighting and natural ventilation for every social area, rescuing the light of day into the urban refuge. Among the chosen materials, branch to the cabreúva wood, typical of the Amazon region, for the dark gray lacquer and for the brass details in the living room's cabinet. In the kitchen and service area was chosen the Granito São Gabriel with brushed finish, the concrete in the beam that separates the terrace from the living room and in the other areas the cement floor. The protagonism of the dark tones of the stone and lacquer come into harmony with the lighter wood, creating a richcomposition of textures and colors.

To integrate the spaces, the architects kept the layout of the rooms and bathrooms and separated the intimate area of the social area with a pivoting door from floor to ceiling that camouflages with the color of the walls. In the social area, the terrace was integrated into the internal area, eliminating the sash and bringing the service area to the entrance hall. Already the lighting in these environments was made with blackapparentrail, which reinforces the main axis of circulation of the apartment.

The sideboard behind the sofá was designed to be a support for dinner and at the same time a work bench. Another interesting solution was in the service area, near the entrance of the apartment, camouflaged behind the sliding doors. The vegetation was proposed on the shelves near the dining table, where they receive more natural light and bring to this environment the memory of the external space.

All the furniture and objects of decoration specified are fruit of the work of Brazilian designers with a lot of personality. "We believe in our national production and value the work of independent designers. Some of the objects, for example, re-signify the original product, giving it a new use, upcycling", explains the architect Mona Singal. "The big picture on the wall of the room is a photograph, which we did the composition of the clippings together with the Brazilian photographer. This work of art is a second window of the apartment”, she says.

As the clients requested the development of a specific piece of furniture for this project, RUA 141 created the Equilíbrio dining table, made with materials already present in the project, goat wood and brass. "From the drawing of the top, we play with the fittings of the four supports, which almost do not touch the plane of the top, and where the material has contact the material change", explains the architect Mona Singal.
