Jing LIU from FAN Life talks to us this week about their upcoming work and thoughts on design. FAN life has worked on a variety of interiors in commercial and residential projects with a philosophy to improve existing interior design with works of new depth.

 

Q: Why did you get into Interior Design?

A: I dreamed to be a costume designer in my childhood, then I started to draw, but I chose interior design in college because of the city, and it soon becomes my favourite.


Q: How did you start up your career?

A: I started my real career after got 3rd prize in an interior design competition in college.


Q: Where does your inspiration come from?

A: Real life, traveling, movies, and music.


Q: Can you tell us about a significant accomplishment or project that you regard as notable?

A: The next one.


Q: Where would you like to see your company in 5 years from now?

A: Our team keep a good state and do more genuine works to touch more people.


Q: What project(s) are you working on at the moment?

A: RV camp resort hotel design, chain catering brand space design.


Q: How do you think an Interior Designer should dress?

A: Dress in a way which can express his/her own style and personality.


Q: If you could design anything, what would it be?

A: Product design, and costume design.


Q: What type of restaurant would you choose to go to for dinner?

A: With good atmosphere, and own design personality.


Q: Can you give us a statement about Design?

A: Design is what makes people comfortable and their lives better.


Q: If you could describe your designs related to food, what would it be and why?

A: Sweet and sour lemon honey water, because it is close to the nature.


Q: What do you think of the design trends in the future?

A: More delicate and economical nature.


Q: Who is your favourite Designer and why?

A: Kelly wearstler, her bold use of colors, and diversified development towards materials.


Q: In which country would you like to have your project in?

A: The more, the better.


Q: What element of a design is the most important thing to you?

A: The collocation of colours and materials.


Q: What is your favourite cocktail?

A: I drink red wine only.
