Q: Why did you get into Interior Design?

A: Love painting from my childhood, and my teacher entered CAFA, and then he started to do design after graduation, so as a long-term result, I love design very much. After entered CAFA, I naturally chose design as my major, and determined to be a designer.


Q: How did you start up your career?

A: I transferred to CAFA to further study after graduation from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts. Designing while teaching students 8 years in Hunan, and then I came to Shanghai in 2008 to start up my career.


Q:Where does your inspiration come from?

A: Capturing beauty from life.


Q: Can you tell us about a significant accomplishment or project that you regard as notable?

A: "Our 108 Salon" and "Pu Zao Restaurant".


Q: Where would you like to see your company in 5 years from now?

A: Develop in stability, each project is original and gets international awards.


Q: What project(s) are you working on at the moment?

A: At present I am studying some homestay hotels, including architecture, landscape, interior design and some original restaurant designs.


Q: How do you think an Interior Designer should dress?

A: Be casual, not deliberately dress up, that's tiring. Designer's work is already hard and heavy itself.


Q: If you could design anything, what would it be?

A: Architecture.


Q: What type of restaurant would you choose to go to for dinner?

A: Choose some restaurants without design to relax myself, and also not concerned about the atmosphere there. It's unnecessary for me because I have made lots of restaurant designs, so I don't want to think about design while eating.


Q: Can you give us a statement about Design?

A: Design is a kind of thought, a real design is without any trace, thought quietly flows in imagination with wisdom, it is a system and also a creation.


Q: If you could describe your designs related to food, what would it be and why?

A: Design is actually related to food and people, for example, restaurants and clothing showrooms often need clean and pure design like sweet, while homestay design is bitter feeling and pub design is hot and spicy.


Q: What do you think of the design trends in the future?

A: Starting from human psychological needs, paying more attention to health, safety, and mood, in short, will be a dialogue between human and nature.


Q: Who is your favourite Designer and why?

A: Japanese designer, Tadao Ando, I like his style, his design can talk with soul.


Q: In which country would you like to have your project in?

A: Japan, and some southeast countries.


Q: What element of a design is the most important thing to you?

A: Color first, lighting second, material third.


Q: What is your favourite cocktail?

A: I like red wine instead of cocktails.
