CCWS worked with Tabitha and Emily at Movember to undertake an in-situ office refurbishment of their fantastically eclectic space. To quote the client, the design brief was about making the space more ‘Movembery’!
It was about refreshing the space and reorganising it to create a more effective working environment for open collaborative working and meetings. Yet still packing it with character, using reclaimed and recycled furniture, curious playful items donated from their sponsors and a diverse collection of objects amassed over the years.
One of the most diverse is the Horse, donated by Old Spice, which acts as a hat stand and welcomes staff and guests at the entrance to one of the floors. Marshall Amplifiers are also stacked high and low, used imaginatively as office-breaks and table tennis stands. There’s even a drum kit area and guitars on the top floor staff breakout area.
We used industrial shelving units to display their objects and combined these with retro steel staff-lockers to create semi-enclosed meet-work space. There’s also open lounge spaces with beanbags, reclaimed sofas and chairs, a large picnic table for socialising and flexible open-meeting pods with blackboard walls.
CCWS are proud to have worked with the Movember team and the office interior has turned out to be a unified yet eclectic collection of spaces across two floors, packed with a fantastic array of furnishings and occupied by a dynamic and diverse group of people working all year round with one goal in mind: to stop men dying too young.
