Eagle by Woodlabo

About Eagle

This collection, consisting of five lights, was inspired by the « Eagle » lunar module which took the first men to the Moon in 1969. Woodlabo has reworked and developed part of the spacecraft’s fuselage and transformed it into an eagle. The Eagle collection plays on multiplying this form. Orbit, Landing, Moon and Lift Off are combinations of two or three modules and represent the mission’s four stages. The structure is birch plywood providing stability and lightness. The light enclosure is aluminum. The panels are spaced a few millimeters apart, letting light through and accentuating its outline.

Eagle Story

We wanted to recreate this mission in our own way, in places that are close to our hearts. Islands, planets, the sea, constellations, boats, spacecraft, the darkside of the Moon, the sunrise etc. One month to scout locations, set up and photograph lights from the Eagle collection in the preserved archipelago of Turku in Finland, where it all started for Woodlabo.
