"What Do You Want For Tomorrow?" Exhibition at Hong Kong Heritage Museum

"What Do You Want For Tomorrow?", a partnership project of Hong Kong Heritage Museum and the Hong Kong Photographic Culture Association, is one of the highlights of the Hong Kong International Photo Festival 2016. This exhibition connects artists from media that are different from, yet related to, photography to explore different possibilities of its contemporary forms, and to examine the creative characteristics and artistic pursuits of women in the present age.

10 August 2016 – 26 September 2016

Presented by the Hong Kong Photographic Culture Association A partnership project with Hong Kong Heritage Museum of Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Photography is a media that can be involved in other fields, like sound art, moving images, video, painting, sculpture and architecture, and can open up new directions for art. Artists from different media generate ideas from images to unleash creativity in their works.

After Image - Lam Yuk LIn

As time goes by, old things gradually disappear and leave an afterimage in our mind. How are we going to preserve old things tomorrow? Will it only leave behind a framework and a bunch of digital images eventually?

Confession - Lam Wai Kit

This work consists of a series of video featuring a dialogue between two protagonists played by the same person. Through these exceptional dialogues are unconventional responses, this work examines our diverse states of existence.

The concept of this series is inspired by the struggles that we face in our daily experience. I wonder if there is any principle that we should follow and question if we honestly know what we desire.

"Walking for the Sake of Discovery..." is the goal of my work this time. I employed spontaneity and exploration as the two basic elements in this installation. As I move from my personal space into the community space, my spaces and the spaces of others overlap, interact and clash. The expanded space becomes very complex. Images, words and forms from different times and spaces are assemble, creating an unexpected crisscross of associations and feelings amongst us. I hope that might lead us to take a new look at the present situation of our society.
