Noodle Stand by ARTTA Concept Studio, Hong Kong

Noodle Stand is a restaurant that is located at one of
the most intensive shopping district in Hong Kong
- Causeway Bay; it serves traditional Chinese Style noodle soup. ARTTA Concept Studio has transformed this tradition into something much inspired by the Japanese Ramen Shop. The whole design has been kept minimal, clean and modern. The designers wanted the open space-planning feature combined with an open kitchen to enhance the experience for each food lover, so that they can enjoy a special noodle making experience.

Noodles used to be sold in small wooden carts in different corners around Hong Kong. Therefore wood materials has been chosen for the floors and walls to capture that nostalgic feeling and creating the restaurant like a large indoor wooden cart. To enhance this feature we have designed the open kitchen with props, such as winnow baskets, chopsticks, bowls and cooking ingredients on display to capture that wooden cart-look.

Colourful features are covered everywhere to infuse excitement for everyone. Especially in the staircase, you will find the seasoning sauce labels from local and different brands; these authentic pictures are a way of reminding customers how much Hong Kong has evolved by reflecting the past with the present.

The feature ceiling in the dining area is one of the most distinctive elements of the design. Since Wonton is one of the most ordered item in the menu, the designers decided to interpret this delicious food as an abstract figure, spreading it over the restaurant.

Neon signage has been chosen to highlight the main entrance; it definitely has a distinctive signature of the old Hong Kong. We have adopted elements from the past and then repackaged it in a modern manner.
