Furniture Inspired By Nature

Titled ‘FurNature’, the latest collection by design studio Sovrappensiero features imaginative furniture pieces that combine industrial materials, like steel or glass, with natural elements, such as wooden sticks or stone.

The collection includes a side table, towel rack, hourglass and hanger. According to the designers, the aim was to “rebalance the relationship between the global and local inspiration behind the products”. Based in Milan and founded in 2007, the studio specializes in interior and product design as well as art direction and video art. For more furniture designs, take a look at our shop.

Speaking of the idea behind the designs, the studio says: “We made ‘incomplete’ objects, aesthetically anonymous and stateless, but keepers of a functional intelligence that can be completed and activated through the addition of natural elements found by the user in a specific location and chosen according to his own tastes, needs and links with the territory.”
