Golden Harvest Cinema – Whampoa is designed by ARTTA Concept Studio. The design strategy was to use the space and make the customers feel as though they are in a film set by bringing in characteristics of a film production studio inside the cinema, repackaging what a film studio looks like. The colours have been thoughtfully chosen, here you can tell that black and white are the dominant colours, which makes Whampoa classy, modern and contemporary.
The main feature that creates this cinematic atmosphere is the triangle metal bars on the ceiling in the lobby and gourmet concierge. Furthermore adding gigantic spotlights onto the bars to really highlight that filmmaking setting. The lobby, box office and reception area uses grand materials of glass, wood and industrial features to create an elegant and luxurious feeling as the customers enter the house
The designers wanted to bring a lively atmosphere in each of the houses, therefore have decided not to use the traditional classic and black leather or velvet seats, but instead use colourful and comfortable seats for a warm and welcoming entrance as the excited customers awaits to watch their chosen film.
